I want that 10GB back! your meter is reporting me 10GB over my own measurements! (within my own router) stop ripping me off for 10gb! /RANT MODE OFF ok now I feel better. once my promo price is over I might have to seriously look at alternatives. though since my area just recently got High speed about 1yr ago, switching will be very risky.

grayfox join:2007-12-10 Whitby, ON	grayfox to Calmuser Member 2012-Jun-4 9:32 am to Calmuser Your tomato router likely cannot accurately gauge your Internet usage.As bell uses the accounting information from pppoe to determine how much you have transfered. Its unlikely that tomato would include any of the pppoe overhead. (pppoe Could add as much as 10-15% more + more for any dropped packets that were re-sent). Unless you had firmware on your router that was written to track usage through your pppoe statistics and save them you will not have an accurate gauge of how much you are using. This is not bells fault its just how pppoe works. Add 10-15% to the number you have and it should be really close to bell's.

Calmuser Calmuser join:2011-10-27 Canada	Calmuser Member 2012-Jun-5 9:56 am 10GB of Overhead? I don't think so! I have a 75GB cap on my Fibe 16 plan. I download about 50GB and Bell was reporting 60! most of the time my count and bells count are very close. last month bell's was 10gb over!

For instance, Tomato only saves data at specific interval - if a power failure or a forced reboot of the router occurred, any unsaved traffic data will be lost. Not saying that Bell is right, just saying that Tomato might be wrong.

I don't claim my router to be 100% accurate. Most time its count and Bells are very close. a 10GB difference is HUGE. Something is off, and I TRUST my router logs more then I trust Bell's! Bell's been off before. Now if they had decent rates for overage, it wouldn't be so bad!

corvette67 join:2007-11-03	corvette67 Member 2012-Jun-6 10:24 am Tomato tracks usage month to month, like May 1 to May 31... your usage is billed based on your billing date, e.g. May 4 to June 4, so the usage period as reported in Tomato may not align with Bell's reporting period. Call Bell or look at your bill to find out your billing period. Score bonus points by suggesting the feature for tomato to report usage based on custom time range (eg. your billing period) and having the tomato dev implement it!
